Decree No. 2018-1239 of 24 December 2018 extends the obligation to label the origin of milk, as well as milk and meat as ingredients, until 31 March 2020.

The European Commission has authorised the commercialisation of Fonio in Europe. Fonio is an ancient grain from the millet family, native to West Africa. It is a gluten-free alternative to wheat and can also replace eggs in some uses.

AnotherWay presents MyBeeWrap, a packaging made from organic cotton, beeswax, jojoba oil, and pine resins. It is washable and reusable and is intended to replace plastic and aluminium packaging while ensuring the optimal preservation of food.


The Italian Smilesys’ Drop & Taste concept consists of a mozzarella tray label with two stages: pull once to release holes that drain the mozzarella. Then pull all the way to release an opening through which you can serve the cheese. The packaging can even be resealed. This concept does away with a lid.


Finland’s Jospak Oy’s tray combines the best features of cardboard and plastic. It reduces the amount of plastic used by 85%. The cardboard tray is fully recyclable. Its outer surface is printable. It is compatible with the existing automatic packaging process, including under modified atmosphere.


Denmark’s PlusPack has received awards for its Ready2Cook Skin packaging. It combines the advantages of a skin packaging (visually attractive, conservation, vertical stacking without leakage, etc.) with the ability to cook the product directly in its aluminium tray.
