Intermarché presents its l’essentiel range, without colouring or preservatives

By the end of 2018, there will be no titanium dioxide in Casino’s products. The company has decided to ban E171 from its food and cosmetic products
Système U has set up Yaquoidedans, an app that guides consumers to better products based on their ingredients – in particular, any additives. In addition, the retailer announced the removal of 82 controversial ingredients from more than 6,000 U-brand products.

Carrefour is committed to making changes via its Act for food programme, which includes 10 flagship measures:

o guarantee that its Carrefour Bio products are 100% French organic (fresh fruits and vegetables, poultry, beef, pork, milk, and eggs)

o ban 100 controversial ingredients from all Carrefour-brand products

o eliminate or reduce the use of chemical pesticides in Carrefour’s produce chains

o eliminate or reduce antibiotics in high-quality meat products

o guarantee transparency on the traceability of its products using blockchain

o use GMO-free feed for all livestock in its chains

o double its vegetarian range

o promote biodiversity by offering traditional fruits and vegetables

o guarantee an option for fish from fisheries and aquaculture that have been certified sustainable

o help consumers switch to organic
